Vail Valley Weddings: Intimate Fall Wedding at the Westin Riverfront Resort in Beaver Creek, Colorado
WEDDING STORY
For Katie and Ben, Colorado is their happy place. Together they enjoy all of what this state has to offer: fishing, hiking, skiing, and more. So when they were planning their destination micro wedding, Vail Valley was a no brainer. Their wedding venue, the Westin Riverfront Resort and Spa, has sweeping mountain views. And their timing could not have been more perfect. They chose the last weekend in September and the fall colors were at peak vibrance. When designing their dream wedding, Katie and Ben had two priorities: gorgeous views and a delicious meal shared with their closest circle. They are the perfect example of how you can put together an elegant and timeless wedding without doing the absolute maximum.
ABOUT THE VENUE
Katie and Ben got married at the Westin Riverfront Resort and Spa located in Avon, Colorado, right in Vail Valley. Katie got ready in a Studio Suite overlooking the pool, with a view of the wedding deck and Beaver Creek Ski Area. Katie and Ben reserved the Opsrey Suite for their reception, which was the perfect space for their micro wedding. This chic event space offers seating for up to 35 guests. It also has a modern lounge area for guests to mingle. The Osprey Suite is just steps away from the Riverfront Express Gondola, which directly accesses Beaver Creek Mountain. If you’re planning a larger wedding, this venue is also equipped with 14 different event rooms to choose from with a maximum capacity of 215 guests.

Just beyond the wedding deck is the Eagle River Trail, a paved walking path that follows the Eagle River. This was the perfect place to take Katie & Ben’s wedding portraits as it offered multiple pull-offs with views of the river and surrounding peaks. The multiple patios and viewing decks were perfect backdrops for formal portraits with family and friends. They signed their marriage license in a cozy private room attached to the Osprey suite. It was decorated with minimalist ski-themed wallpaper and a framed ski glam photo. Katie, Ben and I did our second round of portraits in the Gondola Plaza which showed off Beaver Creek Ski area in the background.
